Members of the Marthasville Fire Protection District hosted several Missouri rural fire department personnel Saturday, April 20, to donate used fire equipment to their departments. The MFPD recently received a FEMA grant to replace fire hoses and nozzles and didn’t want to waste used ones if they were needed. A total of nine departments participated, including Bakersfield, Calhoun, Caulfield, Gainesville, Grandin, Licking, Moody, Pottersville and Tecumseh fire departments.

The Marthasville Area Chamber of Commerce has had plans to add a model train for many years and the project is currently underway. The goal is to open the Depot once a month and during special occasions to share the project with the community. Both men are members of the Katy Railroad Historical Society.
