The Warren County R-III School Board has aligned with the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) on updating nearly all district policies.
At its December meeting, the board summarily approved by unanimous vote 18 of the 19 MSBA recommendations governing topics such as release of information, artificial intelligence use, reductions in professional staff workforce, special education, admissions, enrollment eligibility, dress code, weapons at school, discipline, discipline reporting and records, behavioral threat assessment and suicide awareness.

The Warren County R-III School District has brought itself into compliance with state statutes governing the payment of substitute teachers, which will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2026.
Missouri House Bill 567, signed by Governor Mike Kehoe into law on July 10, repealed statewide earned paid sick time and modified the state's minimum wage law. The current rate of $13.75 will rise to $15.00.

The Warrenton Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the fiscal year 2026 budget during their meeting Dec. 16.
According to documentation provided during the meeting, the 2026 budget includes total projected revenues of $16,583,955. The revenues include water and sewer revenues of $5,839,334, which includes a four percent increase in utility rates, which was also approved at the Dec. 16 meeting. Sales tax revenues are projected at $6,043,088, which is a decrease from fiscal year 2025 due to the sunset of the half cent capital improvements sales tax. Real estate and personal property tax revenues are projected to be $738,004, which is an increase of 10 percent over projected FY 2025. Real estate and personal property tax revenues are allocated $468,815 to the general fund, while $269,189 is allocated to parks in the special revenue fund.

The Warrenton Board of Aldermen unanimously approved an ordinance which amended the city’s code relating to information technology and data processing facilities during their Dec. 16 meeting after making adjustments for setbacks and decibel level requirements.
The proposed ordinance came before the aldermen after passing a Planning and Zoning Commission review, where the commission approved the measure 10-0.

Backed by the heroic return of junior Alexis Ruff, the Warrenton girls wrestling team made history Friday at the ‘War in Wentzville’ tournament, hosted by Liberty.
Ruff, wrestling in her first tournament this season after recuperating from a torn labrum suffered in August, was named the wrestler of the tournament, as voted on by the event’s respective coaches amongst each wrestler at the event.
