Warrenton police officers were dispatched to a reported verbal dispute on March 10 between a father and a son, according to the probable cause statement.
The statement also said one of those involved with the dispute was intoxicated. Dispatchers also advised it was overheard that suspect one “would not go down without a fight.”
When officers arrived the suspect was confrontational with them and threatened physical violence on multiple occasions, according to the probable cause statement.
While officers attempted to handcuff the suspect, he once again threatened them before pinning one officer against the exterior of the residence. While the others tried to restrain him, he punched a second officer in the face several times, leaving visible marks, according to the probable cause statement.
The suspect continued resisting officers and struck a second officer in the face, knocking off his glasses.
He continued resisting and went limp, forcing officers to carry him to the vehicle once he was restrained in handcuffs and leg restraints.
The probable cause statement also reported the suspect was on probation for assaulting police officers until November of this year and had previously pleaded guilty to the crime in November 2023.
Jonathan Krause, 28, of Warrenton, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault on a special victim, a felony and one count of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
A warrant was issued and served for his arrest and he is ordered to be held without bond until seen by a judge.
