An O’Fallon man is facing multiple criminal charges following an early morning traffic stop Monday, Sept. 28, in Warren County.
Jason D. Freeman has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, along with three misdemeanors, including possession of drug paraphernalia; unlawful possession, transport, manufacture, repair or sale of an illegal weapon; and driving 11-15 mph over the speed limit.
Freeman was stopped at 2:41 a.m. on South Stringtown Road for driving 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. He consented to a search of his vehicle, according to a probable cause statement, during which a Warren County sheriff’s deputy located a scale with a white crystalline substance on it, a pill bottle with pills that appeared to be methamphetamine, and 33 empty plastic bags of various sizes commonly seen in packaging user-sized amounts of drugs, according to the statement.
The deputy also located a pair of metal knuckles, which Freeman said he bought, the statement notes.
Freeman, who is on federal probation for two counts of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, was initially being held without bond at the Warren County Jail. His bond was subsequently reduced to $5,000, however, and he has since posted bail and been released, according to court documents.
