Two Warrenton residents were charged with first degree endangerment of a child and second degree drug trafficking in connection to a November 2023 incident.

Two charged with endangering the welfare of a child, drug trafficking in Warrenton

Marcus Wray, 22, and Elizabeth Lemile, 22, both of Warrenton, were charged with endagering the welfare of a child in the first degree and second degree drug trafficking in connection to an incident from November 2023. 

On Nov. 11, 2023, Warrenton Police officers responded to a call for a medical emergency at a residence in Warrenton. 

According to the probable cause statement, the victim was struggling to breathe when officers arrived and was transported to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. 

The victim's urine tested positive for fentanyl. 

Officers then executed a search of the home and found 24 gel caps officers suspected were opiates, along with a baggie of gel caps and white residue, three black metal canisters with suspected opiates, other paraphernalia and three firearms which were all seized, according to the probable cause statement. 

An affidavit filed by a doctor at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital asserted the victim was suffering from the ingestion of fentanyl and norfentanyl. 

An interview was conducted with one of the suspects who confirmed the items seized would test positive for fentanyl. 

Wray was charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, second-degree drug trafficking, and the unlawful use of a weapon, all felonies. 

Lemile received the same charges, along with possession of a controlled substance, also a felony. 

Warrants have been issued for arrests for the pair and they are both to be held without bond.
