A Marthasville man was recently charged with third-degree assault for an incident that occurred in September. A warrant was issued for his arrest Thursday.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a victim came to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department on Sept. 8 to report that the victim had been assaulted by Nathan Mintert-Day, 22, of Marthasville, on Sept. 7 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
According to the victim, he was leaving his ex-girlfriend’s residence after dropping off his child and Mintert-Day allegedly struck him approximately 15 times with a closed fist, causing visible bruising and swelling to the right side of his face. The victim told the deputy that the fight ended with both subjects on the ground, which caused minor lacerations to the victim’s left upper arm and shoulder.
According to the probable cause statement, the deputy observed bruising to the left side of the victim’s face near his eye socket and lacerations to the victim’s left upper arm and shoulder.
