On March 16, Warren County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Aaron Levinson responded to a physical disturbance.
A witness had called to report Kaleb Wilmes, 32, of Imperial, was assaulting a victim in front of the residence. According to the probable cause statement filed by Levinson, Wilmes was choking the victim.
The victim stated Wilmes had thrown her to the ground and Levinson reported she had scratches on her hand and forehead. She also stated she was trying to leave and Wilmes had refused.
Levinson also spoke with a witness who said he saw the victim on the ground in a fetal position with Wilmes on top of her. He also said he witnessed Wilmes grabbing the victim by the arms and pulling her against her will. The witness said he also heard Wilmes say he was going to tie the victim up and put her in the trunk and “get a gun and shoot everyone in the house.”
Wilmes and the victim were previously in a relationship and have a child together, according to the probable cause statement.
WIlmes also have four prior convictions for domestic assault. He was charged with third-degree domestic assault twice in 2016 in St. Charles County, and then fourth-degree domestic assault in Montgomery and Warren counties in 2019 and 2024 respectively.
He was charged with second-degree domestic assault and first-degree harassment, both felonies.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
