Zachary Alan Johnson, age 23, of Warrenton, passed away peacefully on April 30th, surrounded by those who loved him deeply. Born on February 5th, 2002, Zachary lived a life marked by remarkable courage, love and laughter that will never be forgotten. Zachary had a joyful heart, and a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Zachary was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He faced life with unshakable strength, living each day with Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and painful skin condition that never defined who he was. Instead, Zachary defined himself by his boundless spirit, his humor, and his deep love for the things that brought him joy.
Zachary had a magnetic personality and a wide range of interests that reflected his unique soul. He was an avid WWE fan, a fearless admirer of Jackass-style stunts, and a music lover who especially cherished Michael Jackson. He was an old soul, with a special fondness for Elvis Presley, The Three Stooges - and a heart that never let go of childhood favorites like Barney, The Wiggles, Blues Clues and Spider-Man.
Zachary loved reptiles, exploring YouTube, and was rarely without his ipad or a bottle of Gold Peak sweet tea. His laughter, energy, and genuine nature brought joy to everyone lucky enough to be part of his world.
He is survived by his loving parents, Chad and Terasha Johnson, brothers, Thomas and Tyler Johnson, great-grandma, Nadine Johnson, grandparents, Eugene and Beverly Johnson, Terry and Terra Weckherlin and Robert Naill. Aunts and Uncles, Travis and Trish Weckherlin, Greg and Angie Reichert, Gena Johnson and many great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Timon Johnson, Willie and Elaine Ham, William and Betty Naill, Joseph and Mary Weckherlin and Rueben and Violet Smith.
A visitation to celebrate Zachary’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, at 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton, with his service beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7th. All are welcome to attend and honor his remarkable life.
Zachary's time with us was far too short, but his impact was immeasurable. He taught us what it means to live with strength, laugh with your whole heart and love without limits.
Memorial donations can be made to Chad and Terasha Johnson to help other families with E.B. in care of Pitman Funeral Home.
