Visitation for Kevin Gerard Wilding of Warrenton, will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. John Gibson pastor of Eastland Baptist Church of Jerseyville, IL will officiate.
Kevin, 66, passed away Monday afternoon, September 21, at his home. Born June 9, 1960 in Washington, he was the son of Francis Oswald and Lovenia Johanna (Grotewiel) Wilding. Kevin was a 1978 graduate of Wright City High School and earned an Associate Degree from East Central College in Union. He was united in marriage on May 1, 1982 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, to Anita Eilene Lindsey. This union was blessed with four children: Ryan, Lucas, Lindsey and Rachael. Kevin’s career included Lindsey Corporation, owning Kevin’s Press Repair, Color Art, St. Louis Litho, and retiring in 2014. Kevin attended College United Methodist Church in Warrenton. He was an avid coin and knife collector. Kevin was creative with his copper wire art. Kevin is most fondly remembered as being a happy go lucky guy!
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lovenia Wilding; two brothers: Leon Wilding and Raymond Wilding (infant); one son, Lucas Wilding, who died on December 4, 2021; and his beloved wife of 41 years, Anita Wilding, who died on June 7, 2023.
Survivors include one son, Ryan (Danielle) Wilding of House Springs; two daughters: Lindsey (Patrick) Crone of Jerseyville, IL, and Rachael (Clayton) Wehmeier of St. Charles; one daughter-in-law, Katharine Wilding of Waterloo, IA; nine grandchildren: Elijah, Noah, Raymond, Colby, Laken, Calix, Elliott, Briley and Emery; and two great-granddaughters: Raelynn and Lakelynn.
Kevin also leaves his girlfriend, Carolyn Edwards and her daughter, Sara Lewis of Warrenton; five brothers: Steve Wilding of Troy, Tim (Anne) Wilding of Webster Groves, Mark (Jane) Wilding of St. Louis, Daniel (Rhonda) Wilding of St. Peters and Edgar (Nancy) Wilding of St. Peters; five sisters: Margie (Rodney) Martin of Wright City, Ginny (Charlie) Hackenwerth of O’Fallon, Joan (Jim) Schmittle of Warrenton, Debbie (Darrell) Pryor of O’Fallon, and Sandy (Tim) Bethel of Montgomery City; one sister-in-law, Virginia Wilding of O’Fallon; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
