Pam Hambach, a dedicated special education teacher at the Wright City R-II School District, was named the North Central Region Teacher of the Year for Pre-Employment Transition Services. The surprise announcement took place during the Wright City Special Olympics track meet on April 25. Hambach was nominated by Laura Zimmer, a Pre-Employment Transition Specialist at the University of Missouri, who serves Wright City along with other school districts. Hambach is in her 17th year at the R-II School District and works to help students succeed beyond graduation, whether that’s through work experience field trips, the Blue and Gold Cafe, the summer work program or connecting students with job coaches.
