A Warrenton man was charged with third degree domestic assault, a felony, stemming from an incident that occurred around 11 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 6.
Officers from the Warrenton Police Department responded to a call for a physical domestic disturbance in progress and found the victim on the front porch of the residence.
According to the probable cause statement, she said her husband, Adam Sage, 53, of Warrenton, had forcibly removed her jacket, then struck her in the face when she sat down in the kitchen.
She also said he shoved her to the ground where she struck her head on the floor.
Officers had previously responded to a disturbance at the residence earlier that night and at that time there was no evidence of a physical altercation, according to the probable cause statement.
When they returned officers noted the victim had a raised bump on her forehead and a cut on her right arm. There was also dried blood on the victim’s shirt and on several locations within the residence, according to the probable cause statement.
Sage has three prior convictions for domestic assault.
A warrant was served for his arrest and he is currently being held without bond.
