Warren County R-III district officials and school board members pose before they pitch their shovels into the ground to mark official construction on the new elementary school building on Nov. 14. Pictured, from left, are R-III Superintendent Dr. Gregg Klinginsmith, R-III School Board members Deanna Zwyers, Sarah Janes, President Franci Schwartz, Ginger Schenck, Carolyn Spraggs, Vice President Jeff Schneider and R-III Assistant Superintendent Dr. Bradley Ross.
The new elementary school will be located north of Interstate 70 in Warrenton along E. Ash Road and Highway 47 beside the city’s water tower. The groundbreaking comes after voters approved a no-tax increase bond measure, known as Prop R3, in April. The new school is expected to be open to students for the 2027-28 school year. The board accepted a $33.8 million bid from G. S. & S construction on Oct. 10. As completion dates get closer, school lines for all three elementary schools will be redrawn to figure out which students will be attending the new Daniel Boone school.
