The Warren County Commission has approved the 2024 tax rate for the county, following a public hearing held on the morning of Sept. 12. There was no public comment or discussion at the hearing and no one was in attendance outside of the commissioners and County Clerk Denise Stotler.
The commissioners approved a general revenue rate of $0.0519 per $100 of assessed value and a roads and bridges rate of $0.1761 per $100 of assessed value.
These add up to a total tax rate from the county of $0.2280 per $100 of assessed value, representing a flat rate from the previous year.
Even without a change to the tax rate, revenues will still see an increase as the county’s valuation increases in 2024, especially in real estate. The county’s total valuation rose by over $21 million dollars settling at just below $800 million in total.
Just over $17 million of that increase came in real estate values, with the rest of the $4 million in personal property increases.
With the rate approved and expected valuations settled, the county currently plans to bring in $1,818,947 in total tax revenues in 2024, with $414,050 in general revenue and $1,404,897 going towards roads and bridges.
