At the December meeting of the Wright City R-II School Board, Joe Purl with the Wright City Community Food Pantry recognized senior Karsten Uhl with the ‘I Am Second Award,’ sponsored by Kelly Hill with Shelter Insurance.
Uhl has volunteered at the Food Pantry Fish Fry fundraiser, participated in the football team food drive, and generously shared his time and skills by translating for families to help make their experience at the pantry more welcoming.
Purl also expressed gratitude to the parents, educators, and coaches who helped nurture Karsten’s passion for service. As he put it, “When you put others first, the whole community has an opportunity to thrive for generations.”
