Two people were rushed to a hospital Friday, Sept. 24, after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 70 near the Pendleton/Truxton interchange, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to a crash report, Thomas S. Eslahi, 35, and Sarah I. Eslahi, 34, both of Jefferson City, were traveling eastbound on I-70 when the 2021 Indian Motorcycle they were riding struck a rumble strip on the side of the road. The motorcycle went out of control and overturned, ejecting both riders.
Thomas, the driver, was reportedly not wearing a helmet, according to the highway patrol. He suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
Sarah, the passenger, was wearing a helmet and sustained moderate injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, according to the report.
The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash.
