Mr. Richard Roy Peterson, of Warrenton, passed away on Sunday, January 5, at the New Haven Care Center. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Beloit, WI, to the late Harold and Rosella (nee: Jeffers). He had reached the age of 88 years.
Richard was united in marriage to Nancy Johnson on July 23, 1960 in Clinton, WI. This union was blessed with three daughters, Patricia, Priscilla and Pam. They spent many wonderful years together before her passing. Richard worked in the Agriculture field as a Farmer for many years. He was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton. Richard was an outdoorsman and enjoyed being out in the woods, hunting deer or turkey or shooting trap. He enjoyed spending time working with machinery and his woodworking projects. He was known for his giving nature and volunteered his time at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Thrift Store, in Wright City. Richard's greatest joy came from his family and the memories they made when they were together. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many and he will be missed.
Richard Peterson was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy; his parents, Harold and Rosella; one brother, Lewis Peterson and one son in law, Keith Richardson. Those who will remain grateful for having shared in Richard's life are his children, Patricia Kutchenriter, Priscilla Richardson and Pam Wilshusen; eight grandchildren, Michael Wilshusen, John Kutchenriter, Jacob Wilshuen (Michelle), Josh Kutchenriter, Sarah Richardson, Michael Richardson, Tom Richardson (Carlee), Tamara Eggering (John); three great grandchildren, Evelyn Wilshusen, Elaina Wilshusen, Tori Dorough (Andrew); one great - great grandchild, Donavan; other relatives and many close family friends.
Richard's family will host a Celebration of Life Visitation on Saturday, January 18, from 1 P.M. - 2 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton. There will be a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2 P.M. with Pastor Jeremy Klaustermeier officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. John's Lutheran Church.
