Daniel Ligue, 45, of O’Fallon, was charged with four counts of first-degree attempted assault, all felonies, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor, on June 11.
According to the probable cause statement filed by the Warrenton Police Department, officers responded to a call for trespassing on Sunrise Drive.
The victims stated Ligue had entered a vehicle and reversed toward them “in an aggressive manner,” and had hit another vehicle behind him while driving towards them.
They said after the accident, he exited the vehicle and fled toward a nearby treeline south of the residence, according to the probable cause statement.
According to the complaint filed by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Grant Folkmann, Ligue has an extensive list of prior convictions including involuntary manslaughter and two counts of second-degree assault in Pike County, stealing and stealing a motor vehicle and resisting arrest in St. Charles County, driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without a license in Lincoln County and possession of a controlled substance, driving while his license was revoked, second-degree domestic assault and aggravated DWI in Warren County.
A warrant has been served for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
