Myers named chairman of crime and public safety committee

State Representative Jeff Myers, serving Missouri’s 42nd District, has been appointed as Chair of the House Committee on Crime and Public Safety for this legislative session.

Additionally, Rep. Myers has been appointed to serve on the General Laws and Utilities committees, further solidifying his role in shaping key state policies.

“I am humbled and honored to have this opportunity,” stated Myers, R-Warrenton. “Utilizing my 28 years of law enforcement experience, I look forward to being able to help shape policy that enhances public safety and ensures the well-being of Missouri residents.” 

As Chair of the Committee on Crime and Public Safety, Myers brings nearly three decades of hands-on experience and an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities in addressing crime, supporting law enforcement, and ensuring policies align with the needs and interests of the state and the impacts for Missouri communities. 

In his additional roles on the General Laws and Utilities committees, Myers will contribute to discussions and decisions impacting a wide array of policy areas, from consumer protections to critical infrastructure needs. 

This legislative session, Myers looks forward to working alongside his colleagues to create and advance legislation addressing key issues and promoting solutions that will support the safety of every Missourian.
