Three people were injured in a four-car accident that took place in St. Charles County on the afternoon of May 12, including a 20-year-old Marthasville man, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
All four vehicles were traveling west on Interstate 70 near Lake St. Louis Blvd. when the first vehicle, driven by a 47-year-old Wentzville man, began to slow down due to traffic ahead.
He was struck from behind by a New London man, 80, who was following too closely, according to the patrol. The Marthasville man was following behind him, also too closely, and extended the accident crashing into the back of the New London man’s vehicle.
An 18-year-old House Springs man was also following too closely behind him, according to the patrol, and struck the rear of the Marthasville man.
The Wentzville man, Marthasville man and House Springs man sustained minor injuries in the accident and were transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis via ambulance.
The New London man did not report any injuries. The Marthasville man was not wearing his seat belt in the accident, according to the patrol.
