LaVerne Beumer (nee: Borgmann) of Augusta, is peacefully home with Jesus. She passed away on April 5, 2025 at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the late George Beumer; She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Arnold Borgmann, mother, Gladys Borgmann (nee: Carter), son, Kenneth Beumer, Brother, Raymond Borgmann.
LaVerne and George were married on May 11, 1957 and from this union one child was born. Kenneth. LaVerne enjoyed a fulfilling career, beginning with her role at Burroughs Corp in accounts receivable, and later managing the books for Matson Lumber Co. For two decades, she served as a cashier at the Francis Howell School District, where her warm smile and friendly demeanor brightened the days of countless students and staff. A devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, LaVerne was an integral part of the congregation. She passionately served as a faithful Sunday School Teacher, sharing her faith and wisdom with the children of the church. LaVerne was also known for her quilting skills, often creating beautiful quilts for her church. Her commitment to deepening the faith of others was evident through her Bible study classes held every Wednesday night. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Augusta. A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Augusta. Memorials can be made in honor of LaVerne, donations may be made to: Christ Lutheran Church, Augusta, Missouri or Billy Graham Evangelist Association or Donor's Choice in care of Pitman Funeral Home.
