Mike Thomas, program and music director for KFAV-FM and KWRE-AM in Warrenton, was recently honored with the first ever CDX Star Award for Country Radio Programming by the CDX Country Traction Music Chart at the annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
Thomas has been on staff at both stations since October 1986. In addition to serving as program and music director, he is also the morning show host on both stations and hosts a daily talk show, “Livewire,” on KWRE.
Thomas also serves as president of the Truesdale Board of Aldermen.
Joe Kelley, owner of CDX and presenter of the awards, noted Thomas was a unanimous selection for the award with more than 30 radio promoters who call country radio stations nationwide on a weekly basis to promote country artists and their music.
KFAV is among the over 140 radio stations nationwide that make up the reporting panel for the CDX Traction chart.
