Former Warren County has probation suspended, will face revocation hearing in April

Posted

Former Warren County Assessor Wendy (Nordwald) Kozma had her probation suspended on Jan. 27 and will face a revocation hearing at 9:30 a.m. on April 14.

Warren County Prosecuting Attorney Hannah Schweissguth Dunakey had filed a motion to revoke Kozma’s probation stating she had not made any restitution payments since July 2024.

Dunakey also said Kozma has only made payments of approximately $12,000 to date of the $213,000 she owes.

She appeared in court for the brief hearing on Jan. 27 and spoke very little other than stating she needed time to find an attorney and to solve logistical issues for her court dates since she lives in Florida.

Osage County Judge Sonya Brandt and Dunakey agreed to set the revocation hearing for April 14.

This is the second time Kozma has been brought back in front of a judge for failure to make payments on her restitution. In October 2023, Brandt ordered Kozma to make monthly payments of $1,200.

Kozma pleaded guilty to 15 felony charges of stealing from the Missouri State Assessors Association in June 2022. Her plea deal included a four month prison sentence and restitution payments of more than $213,000 instead of a 10-year prison sentence.
