Darek McMahon, 34, of Warrenton, was charged with two counts of second-degree arson and six counts of burning. A warrant was served for his arrest and he is being held without bond.
The fire is being investigated as an arson between the Warren County Sheriff's Department and the Warrenton Fire Protection District and sheriff's deputies have a suspect in custody, according to Sheriff Kevin Harrison.
The fire is now under control and there are no hazards to the public at this time but first responders are still asking that citizens avoid the area and keep the North Outer Road clear between Highway W and W Warrenton Boulevard.
Firefighters responded to a fire at the Abundant Life Church property in Warrenton late Tuesday morning.
According to Warrenton Fire Protection District Fire Marshall Scott Determan, they first responded to a call for a vehicle fire at 11:21 a.m.
Smoke was visible from the fire as far as Wright City, according to Wright City Assistant Fire Chief Josh Riebe.
He said there were three distinct fires burning when they arrived which burned multiple vehicles on the property.
