Mr. Donnie Ray Williams, of Warrenton, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, at his home with his family at his side. He was born on August 20, 1943 in Mt. Carmel, Ill. to the late Henry and LaVaughna (nee: Woods) Williams. Don had reached the age of 81 years.
Don was united in marriage to Marian Kay Abney on March 24, 1961 in Mt. Carmel. They recently celebrated 64 wonderful years together. they were blessed with three children, Kim, Tammy and Katina. The family moved to Warrenton and Don began his insurance career. He was an Independent Insurance Agent for The Scott Agency for several years. They attended College United Methodist Church for many years. Don was deeply involved within the community and with several local organizations. He was a member of the Rotary Club and was a past President, Chamber of Commerce, The Warrenton Elks and American Legion. He was also a member of the Missouri Association for Independent Agents and a past President for Warrenton Industrial Development Authority Board. He enjoyed tennis, golf and racketball, as well as attending football, baseball and basketball games with his friends. Don and Marian enjoyed spending the winters in Florida each year. He was a family man and loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply.
Don Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and LaVaughna Williams; two brothers, Richard Williams and Harold Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Marian; three children, Kim Williams, Tammy Stewart and husband Mike and Katina Barley and husband Derek; 11 grandchildren, Sara McCulley (Michael),Brittany Williams Brito (Eduardo), Nicole Williams, Justin Ohmes (Emily), Jessica Williams, Tyler Stewart, Andrew Ohmes, Madalyn Ohmes, Caleb Barley, Reis Barley, Jaylyn Barley; one great grandchild, McKenzie and one on the way, Edison; one brother Ed Williams (Cathy); other relatives and many friends.
Don's family will host a visitation on Monday, April 14, 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral Services will also be on Monday, April 14, beginning at 12 P.M. A graveside service will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to College United Methodist Church.
