Dewey Clover

Dewey George Clover of Foristell,  passed away on February 18, at the age of 86. Dewey was born June 23, 1937, son of A. Dewey and Lydia (Mueller) Clover.

He was a 1955 graduate from Washington High School. He and his wife Dot were married in Washington April 4, 1964 and celebrated 59 years of marriage prior to his passing. Dewey was the caretaker of Friedens Cemetery in New Melle for several years, worked at Wheeling Steel, Westside Service Company for 26 years, and maintenance supervisor at Forum Apartment Complex for 17 years, retiring in 2008. He was an active member and elder of Friedens Peace United Church of Christ in New Melle until it's closure in 2023. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, studying history, delving into genealogy, and volunteered for the Franklin County Cemetery Society for many years. Dewey loved his family and friends, and was passionate about attending his grandchildren's activities.

Dewey is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy "Dot" Clover (nee Campbell) of Foristell; his three children, Cameron (Niki) Clover of Knob Noster, Teresa (Nathan) Seaberg of Anoka, MN, Beth (Darrell) Daly of Wentzville; sibling, Ruth Marquart of Washington; four grandchildren, Donovan (Judy) Seaberg, Taylor Seaberg, Brendan Daly, Justin Daly; 19 nieces, nephews, and multiple great nieces and nephews; He is preceded in death by his father, A. Dewey Clover, mother, Lydia Johanna Augusta (Mueller) Clover, siblings, Vic Clover, Dorothy Weiskopf, and Betty Stuesse; brothers-in-law, Jim Weiskopf, Bob Stuesse, and Jojo Marquart; sister-in-law, Carrie Clover.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 1, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  at Pitman Funeral Home,  in Wentzville. The funeral will be held Saturday, March 2, at 11:30 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Cemetery Society, Friedens Cemetery in New Melle, or American Legion Baseball Post 323 in Wentzville.
