Since opening their doors in 2000, The Child Advocacy Center has been a frontline responder to reports of child abuse. The organization exists to protect children, heal families and prevent abuse.
In 25 years, the Child Advocacy Center has served over 538,815 people through their various services. The primary goal of the Child Advocacy Center is to ensure children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. Services offered include forensic interviews, children and family advocacy, mental health therapy and prevention education programs.
The agency has provided over 12,000 forensic interviews for children disclosing physical or sexual abuse, neglect or exposure to violence.
“Over the years, we’ve grown not only in size but also in the depth of services we provide. From forensic interviews and advocacy to mental health therapy and prevention education, our commitment to offering comprehensive, trauma-informed care has remained steadfast. Each step of our journey has been guided by our mission to help children find safety and support, and to give families the tools they need to heal,” said Executive Director Julie Seymore.
The Child Advocacy Center will hold its 12th annual One With Courage Gala at Ameristar Casino on April 26 to raise funds and share about their mission. The agency is also challenging the community to donate $25 a month in 2025 to support children healing from abuse.
