Charges have been filed against Kyle Baxter, 37, for a burglary that took place in Warren County in January of this year.
He was charged with burglary and stealing of $750 or more, both felonies.
In February, the victim filed a police report for the suspected robbery of $3,800 from her husband's safe, which had been forcible removed from the wall, accoring to the probable cause statement.
The victim also said that they suspected Baxter entered the home illlegally through a window in the garage, which had been tampered with.
According to the probable cause statement, Baxter is a family member of the victim and is not allowed in their home. During a Mirandaized interview, Baxter said he did enter the home unlawfully while it was occupied by another individual and removed money from the safe using a "flexible grabber claw," according t othe probable cause statement. It also stated that the individual in the home at the time of the burglary was Baxter's niece.
The victim said the exact date of the crime is unclear, although they stated it would have he to be between the dates of Jan. 22-25 of this year.
Baxter has been charged and is currently out on bond with special conditions.
