Charges were filed on Feb. 25 in connection to a 2024 forgery case in Wright City.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Wright City Police Detective James Holmes, officers responded to a store where a witness reported suspect Brandon Summers, 30, of Fenton, had attempted to cash a fraudulent gaming machine voucher in the amount of $2,100 on April 28, 2024.
The witness also stated that a separate suspect has attempted to cash a separate fraudulent voucher at the same location in the amount of $1,200. He provided officers with copies of the vouchers and demonstrated they had been fabricated.
Summers was arrested and Detective Holmes made contact with detectives in Wentzville and St. Charles to conduct a search of his vehicle on April 29, 2024, according to the probable cause statement.
He said he found a laptop, a printer and other equipment that would allow him to operate them from inside his vehicle. He also seized two copies of fraudulent, $1,200 vouchers that were hidden behind a loose panel of the vehicle's dashboard.
Summers was charged with forgery and two counts of attempting to steal $750 or more, all felonies.
He is currently out on bond and a hearing is being scheduled.
