Mrs. Alice "Allie" Marie Coleman (nee: Dawson) of Warrenton, passed away on Monday, March 24, at the Aspen Valley Senior Living in Washington. She was born on August 22, 1942 to the late George and Alice (nee: Bradshaw) Dawson. Allie had reached the age of 82 years.
Allie was united in marriage to Alfred Phillip Coleman on November 19, 1960 in Washington. They celebrated 49 wonderful years together before his passing in February of 2009. They were blessed with two children, Sharlla and Bill. Allie worked for Binkley in Warrenton for many years. She was a wonderful "Care Taker". She loved taking care of her family and friends, especially caring for children. She was also a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She loved animals, but was most fond of her dog "Coco", her trusty sidekick. Allie taught Sunday School for over 40 years at the Warrenton Wesleyan Church. Allie was a devoted woman of faith, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a good friend to many.
Allie Coleman was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phil Coleman; her parents, George and Alice Dawson; four siblings, Jack Dawson, Donna Fennessy, Dolores Kluesner and George Dawson. Surviving family members include her daughter, Sharlla Brandwein and husband Dennis; one son Bill Coleman; six grandchildren, Brent Brandwein (Dana), Brianne Herzog (Jim) and Brittni Brandwein (Derek), Trace Coleman, Twi-Anna Coleman and Dawson Coleman; four great grandchildren, Christopher, Kambrie, Maesen, and Walker; three brothers, David Dawson, Bill Dawson and John Dawson; her favorite fur-baby, "Coco"; other relatives and so many friends.
A visitation, to celebrate Allie's life, will be held on Saturday, March 29, at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. The funeral service will begin at 12 P.M. on Saturday March 29. A burial will follow at the Jonesburg City Cemetery, Jonesburg. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
