The Montgomery County Commission voted 3-0 Monday, Dec. 29, to authorize the county to enter into agreements with Amazon Data Services with respect to the Chapter 100 agreement. Following the meeting Monday, Presiding Commissioner Ryan Poston said the vote was to codify in paper the agreement between the county and Amazon Data Services, Inc. regarding a Chapter 100 abatement for its proposed data center in the county. The county had previously approved a resolution relating to the tax abatement agreement at its Dec. 18 public meeting on the issue. more

As part of approving distributions for the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, the Warrenton Board of Alderman spent some time discussing the proposed distribution to the Greater Warren County Economic Development Council before finally approving the measure by a 4-1 vote. The amount proposed to be contributed by the city to GWCEDC is $22,500, which is the same amount provided in the past fiscal year, according to City Administrator Brandie Walters. more

Finances, specifically what the village is paying certain providers of professional services, was an ongoing topic of discussion during the Innsbrook Board of Trustees Dec. 18 meeting. The conversation began as the board discussed the approval of financial reports. Trustee Mike Caton said he noticed a few things when going over the finances. One was that the village was over budget on office expense items. Caton also pointed out that the village is already 67 percent of the budget for attorney services, but has not yet completed half a fiscal year. more

The Warrenton Board of Aldermen unanimously approved the fiscal year 2026 budget during their meeting Dec. 16. According to documentation provided during the meeting, the 2026 budget includes total projected revenues of $16,583,955. The revenues include water and sewer revenues of $5,839,334, which includes a four percent increase in utility rates, which was also approved at the Dec. 16 meeting. Sales tax revenues are projected at $6,043,088, which is a decrease from fiscal year 2025 due to the sunset of the half cent capital improvements sales tax. Real estate and personal property tax revenues are projected to be $738,004, which is an increase of 10 percent over projected FY 2025. Real estate and personal property tax revenues are allocated $468,815 to the general fund, while $269,189 is allocated to parks in the special revenue fund. more
