A Lake St. Louis man was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention after allegedly failing to stop for a marked Wright City Police Department vehicle.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Wright City Police Department, on Feb. 15, at approximately 11:21 a.m., an officer observed a black Ford Mustang westbound on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Wildcat Drive. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle entered Interstate 70 eastbound and accelerated to 100 miles per hour. According to the affidavit, the pursuit continued to mile marker 205, when the driver went through the grass median from I-70 to Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The driver then lost control of the vehicle and exited the vehicle running southbound. Eventually the driver of the vehicle was identified as Bruce Alan Navarrette of Lake St. Louis.

A no bond warrant was issued for Navarette on Feb. 26.
