Record Managing EditorWrite-in candidate Dan Grafrath unseated Marthasville East Ward Alderman John Graham in Tuesday’s election.Grafrath collected 41 votes, while Graham had 28, according to unofficial results. Graham has been on the board since being appointed in 2010.Grafrath is one of two new candidates who won in municipal races across the county.In Warrenton, political newcomer Bob Delaloye easily won the Ward 3 alderman seat with 75 votes over his two opponents. Don Broering was second with 24 votes, followed by Kellen Dreyer with 20.The position is currently held by John Clark, who was unsuccessful in his bid for mayor.Two incumbents, Ward 1 Alderman Karen Casserly and Ward 2 Alderman Gary Auch, were re-elected.Casserly, who is finishing her first term, defeated challenger Kyle Bradbury 124-92. Auch tallied 115 votes, with Scott Schulze and Lloyd Wideman following with 89 and 61 votes, respectively. Auch is in his second stint on the board and will serve for a second consecutive term. He previously was an alderman from 1986-2006.Warrenton voters also overwhelmingly approved Proposition 1, 424-159, to allow the city to extend its western boundary by approximately 600 feet down the Interstate 70 corridor.The lone municipal race in Wright City saw incumbent Jim Toothman re-elected to his third term. He had 73 votes, while challenger Kay Janish received 36.Incumbents re-elected to R-III school boardJohn Clinger and John Bradshaw won in their re-election bids to the Warren County R-III School Board.They will serve three-year terms.Clinger received the most votes, collecting 680, or 42 percent, while Bradshaw had 527 votes. A third candidate, Lucy Click, had 410 votes.Voting measure passes in InnsbrookInnsbrook will be able to forgo holding a future board election if the number of candidates equals the number of seats up for election.The ballot measure, known as Proposition 1, won by a wide margin 70-20.Innsbrook will save about $400 each time an election is not needed, officials reported.Missouri law allows villages and municipalities with fewer than 1,000 permanent residents to eliminate elections for uncontested board seats. The measure will be in place for the April 2016 election and will have to be approved every six years.Write-in candidate captures alderman seat
