By Janine DavisRecord Staff WriterWright City officials have signed off on plans to install a new water line this summer along a stretch of Westwoods Road.The project will replace old 4- and 6-inch water mains with an 8-inch line along Westwoods Road from the North Service Road to the Twiehaus Addition.Aldermen last week approved a contract from Lewis-Bade Inc. for engineering and surveying services for design and staking of the water line replacement. The projected cost of engineering planning and construction is $120,000.The work is Phase 1 of a five-year plan to improve the city’s water infrastructure proposed in a 2011 study performed by Cochran Engineering and funded by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the city. The plan lays out year-by-year priorities based on the study.“We’re doing these projects as we have funds available in the current year’s budget,” said Wright City Treasurer Karen Girondo. “We’re paying as we go.”Girondo said the 2011 water system improvement study was the first completed since 2001.Wright City proceeds with water line project
