To The Editor: “We the people.” A clarion call to all patriots. How often have we heard that phrase? How often do we hear patriots and politicians speak of returning power to “the people”? It is an essential element of how we perceive ourselves as a freedom loving, self-governing people.Now the phrase rings hollow in my ears. For “we the people” chose Hillary Clinton as president of the United States of America by an advantage of nearly 3,000,000 votes. Jan. 20, 2017 was a sad day for “we the people.”Bob Ritchie,Warrenton, MO.
