After a 49-12 win over Winfield, the Warrenton football team not only continues to remain undefeated, but continue to break school records left and right.
As of tonight, Mason Thompson holds the record for career receiving yards. Thompson previously broke the record for career touchdown receptions last Friday night.
On top of that, Kadin Stroer broke the school record for career tackles.
The Warriors came out strong in the first quarter. Austin White, a senior, intercepted a ball from Winfield’s quarterback to take it all the way to the 13-yard line. Austin Haas capitalized on the Warrior’s momentum and put up the first six points of the game.
Late in the quarter, Haas tallied on his second touchdown of the night off a 51-yard carry to the endzone. The Warriors ended the quarter leading 14-0. Tyler Faerber had two extra points.
Starting in the second, Haas did it again with another 22-yard touchdown.
About five minutes later, Brandon Johnson threw a deep pass to Peyton Dawson, which he caught at the 43-yard line after going up and over two Winfield players.
Deadrick Forrest scored for another Warrior touchdown after receiving a pass from Johnson for a 84-yard reception. At halftime, the Warriors were up 28-0.
Starting the third, Haas did not let up and added his fourth touchdown off the night after receiving a handoff from Johnson.
In addition, Treyvian Guthrie completed one sack, for his third sack of the season and Mason Thompson had a 35-yard touchdown reception, which led him to breaking the school record for career receiving yards.
Winfield snuck one touchdown in with about six minutes left of play in the third quarter to make the score 42-6. Winfield scored again in the fourth quarter.
Late in the fourth, sophomore Isias Hernandez had a 13-yard rushing touchdown and recorded his first varsity touchdown of the season.
