Warrenton Police Chief Davis Bernard said the shooting stemmed from "an altercation" between two Warrenton men. The names of the two men have not been released. Both suspects were taken into custody after the incident, police said, but neither has yet been charged. Both have been released from the Warren County Jail. No one was injured, although both suspects apparently fired several shots. The incident took place at 1:58 a.m. on Sunday morning, Aug. 28, according to police, at Shooters and Shots, a Warrenton bar and restaurant located at 101 W. Booneslick Road. Charges are likely to be forthcoming once the police investigation is completed, authorities said. According to police accounts of the incident, the two men apparently started arguing over an undetermined incident. As the argument escalated, each man pulled out a gun and reportedly fired multiple shots into the air. "No one was hit by the gunfire," Bernard related, "according to statements taken from several eyewitnesses at the scene." Warrenton police also continue to investigate a stabbing incident which involved two Warren County residents in late July. The incident happened along Arlington Way. According to a police report, two men were stabbed during an altercation involving three male subjects. Neither stabbing victim's name has been released, police said, because the investigation is ongoing and charges have not been filed. One of the victims was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, police said, while the other victim was able to drive himself to the hospital. The first suspect suffered life-threatening injuries and is still under hospital care, according to police, while the second suspect was treated and released. Bernard said the two stabbing victims apparently began quarreling over some "personal issues."
