A Warren County man is facing a felony charge in circuit court for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a teenager, according to Prosecuting Attorney Mike Wright. Stevens F. Long, 38, Warrenton, is charged with one count of second-degree statutory rape, according to court records. Long's bond was set at $25,000. An investigation by the Warren County Sheriff's Department began about two weeks ago into an alleged sexual abuse case involving a 16-year-old female who was identified in a probable cause statement only by her initials, P.L. Authorities began investigating the case after being notified by a child abuse hotline call to the Missouri Department of Social Services, the sheriff's department stated. It was discovered that Long and the teenager were living together at Long's residence in the 500 block of South Highway 47, according to the probable cause statement. Long was arrested Wednesday, April 24, according to court records. When a sheriff's deputy interviewed the teenager, she stated that she had been dating Long for several weeks. Long told authorities that he had been dating the teenager for two to four weeks and that the two had engaged in sexual intercourse.

Drug Charges Filed Long also is facing two felony charges related to attempted production and distribution of drugs, according to the county prosecutor's office. He is charged with attempting to manufacture a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, court records show. Bond in that case was set at $50,000. The sheriff's department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of north Highway 47 Wednesday, April 24, during an investigation into alleged illegal drug activity, according to a probable cause statement. Authorities made contact with a man identified in court documents as Long. It was discovered that Long was in possession of a plastic bag containing six individual bundles of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, the sheriff's department said. Before the search warrant was executed, a sheriff's deputy and a member of the East Central Drug Task Force watched as a vehicle pulled into the driveway and an unidentified woman got out, according to police reports. Authorities continued to watch as a suspected narcotics transaction occurred, and then the woman got into the vehicle and departed. A second search warrant also was executed the same date at another residence in the 500 block of south Highway 47, according to the sheriff's department. During the search, the sheriff's department found various items associated with the production of methamphetamine, according to a probable cause statement. A plastic bag which allegedly contained residue was field tested. The results were positive for the presence of methamphetamine, the sheriff's department stated. Long was arrested the same day, according to the sheriff's department. While being interviewed by law enforcement officers, Long allegedly admitted the narcotics-related items belonged to him, the probable cause statement read.
