The Warrenton Lady Warriors used a fast start to advance to Friday's district championship game.
Warrenton beat Ft. Zumwalt East 10-0 in six innings Thursday to advance to the district title game. Warrenton beat Holt Tuesday in the first round of the tournament.
Warrenton scored five runs in the first two innings Thursday to take an early lead. Makayla Witthaus hit a one-out single in the first inning to score the first two runs of the game. The Lady Warriors added three runs in the second inning. Audrey Lanzone's RBI single in the second inning gave Warrenton a 5-0 lead.
Warrenton added four runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth inning to clinch the victory.
Warrenton will face off against the winner of Parkway North and Ft. Zumwalt South in the Class 4, District 4 championship game. The game is slated to be played at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Ft. Zumwalt East.
