The Warrenton football team is now 2-0 after a 28-7 win on the road agaisnt Washington.
The Warriors were up at the end of the first quarter after Austin Haas scored a touchdown with 18 seconds left. Tyler Faerber added an extra point to make the score 7-0.
Both teams were scoreless in the second quarter, with Warrenton headed into the locker room up by seven points.
In the third quarter, the Warriors came out wanting more. With six minutes left, Mason Thompson caught a pass from Brandon Johnson for a touchdown.
Just a little over a minute later, while on defense, Kadin Stroer picked up a fumble from Washington and ran it back for a touchdown to make the score 21-0.
In the fourth quarter, Washington scored a touchdown with four minutes remaining. Then, with two minutes left Austin Haas added six more points for his second touchdown of the night.
One of the highlights of the game was Warrenton's defense, having made multiple big stops at the goal line in the second half.
Faerber recorded four extra points and the Warriors won 28-7. They will be back next week to take on Liberty at 7 p.m. at home Sept. 13.
