The Warrenton Lady Warriors lost their district quarterfinal matchup with Hannibal last weekend.
Warrenton lost to Hannibal 6-0. The Lady Warriors only trailed by two goals at halftime despite playing the game without multiple starters and having no available substitutions for most of the game.
“I was really impressed with the attitude and the effort that they put into this game,” Wargowsky said. “Three of our girls also run track. So they went to run the district track… And then two concussions right away in the first half. And so then we were down to no subs. But I’m proud of how they played.”
Wargowsky specifically cited strong games from goalie Emily Beumel and defender Coryn Higby.
“The goalkeeper had an amazing game.” Wargowsky said. “And then Coryn Higby back on defense. It was probably the best game she’s ever had. It was a great outing and effort by all of them in the heat and no subs.”
Warrenton ended the season with five wins.
