A scoreless first half left for an exciting second in the Warrenton football team’s 13-0 win over Fort Zumwalt South. This is Warrenton’s first shutout of the year.
Halfway through the third quarter, the Warriors got things going after quarterback Mason Sanders delivered a big pass to Brody Reel. From there, Sanders connected with Deadrick Forrest to put Warrenton in the red zone.
Capping off the play, Sanders threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Forrest. Warrenton led 6-0.
With less than four minutes left in the game, the Bulldogs were coming down to its final chances of potentially winning the game. However, Drake Brandriff came up with a huge pick-six to take the Bulldogs out of the game.
Jake Kinney added the extra point and Warrenton led 13-0.
Overall, Jake Mincher had a fumble recovery and Javon Jones, Joseph Greene and Brandriff each had a sack.
Warrenton ended its regular season 6-3. Their district opponent is to be determined.
