More than 315 Missouri Connections Academy seniors were recently awarded their high school diplomas as members of the statewide virtual program’s 2025 graduating class, with 170 of them attending its annual commencement ceremony at University of Central Missouri.

“It was wonderful to have this opportunity to celebrate our graduates and their academic milestone with an in-person commencement ceremony together with families and friends,” said Missouri Connections Academy school leader Lynsie Hunt. “The faculty and staff at Missouri Connections Academy are proud of the determination these students have demonstrated to find a learning environment that enabled them to succeed academically. We are confident the class of 2025 is poised to do great things.”

While about 35% of the graduates indicated they plan to continue their education and attend a two or four-year college or university, others plan to join the military, pursue vocational training, pursue an apprenticeship or internship, or enter the workforce to start their careers.

Christopher Leonard, of Wright City, was among the graduates in the Missouri Connections Academy’s class of 2025.

During the commencement ceremony, the class of 2025 heard remarks from several graduates who shared their perspective on this special occasion. Senior speaker Sullivan Smith of Imperial encouraged his classmates to “not waver from the rocky path in favor of a paved road. Let us embrace experience, the most brutal of teachers.”
