The Warren County R-III Board of Education unanimously approved a bid from Midwest Transit Equipment for three new school buses for the 2025-26 school year on March 13.
The total cost for the three 77-passenger school buses is $494,787. The district did note the new buses will align with the district’s new radio communications system, that the board had approved in February, from Motorola Solutions.
The district typically tries to buy four new buses every year, but due to the increasing costs of buying new buses, the district recommended they only buy three this year.
“Only buying three is a little bit short of that target but hopefully we can get caught up in the future years,” R-III Superintendent Gregg Klinginsmith said.
