Record Managing EditorTruesdale’s accounting records are in excellent condition, according to an audit report released this month.The city was issued an unqualified opinion, the highest possible rating. The audit, conducted by Charles E. Montgomery, CPA, of Troy, covered the fiscal year ending June 30.The board of aldermen reviewed the audit report at their Dec. 16 meeting.The city’s total net assets at the end of the fiscal year were $1,612,889, of which $975,974 were for governmental activities and $636,915 for business-type activities.The only recommendation offered in the audit was for the city to consider combining its two certificates of deposit to see if a better interest rate could be obtained.However, city officials explained this has not been done because the penalty for early withdrawal might not be as high if a CD had to be used.In other news• An ordinance was approved finalizing an agreement between the city and CJN Products for a waterline extension project. The project, to extend a waterline on North Water Street, will cost $41,944. The engineer’s estimate was $63,970.• Chris Dempsey, representing Belaire Mobile Home Park, informed the board improvements have started on residences that are in need of repairs, such as new roofs, sidings and paint. The long-term goal is to have some of the older homes replaced with newer units, Dempsey said.City officials asked Dempsey to return to a meeting in the spring to update the city on the progress.• A business license was issued for Show Me Suds, LLC, located at 1020 E. Veterans Memorial Parkway. The business sells laundry detergent and other items.City of Truesdale
