Record Managing EditorTruesdale city officials have identified three projects that could be completed if a grant is awarded to cover a portion of engineering costs. The city is considering extending water lines along South Spoede Lane from Truesdale Avenue to Gastorf Chevrolet, on Juni Way, and along Veterans Memorial Parkway from NAPA to the western city limits. The total cost for engineering would be $29,590, officials said. If the Missouri Department of Natural Resources awards the city a grant covering up to 45 percent of the engineering expense, the city would have to pay the remaining $16,274.50.Earlier this month, aldermen voted to submit the three projects to DNR for approval.Officials said the possible grant was welcome news.“You take 45 percent off engineering, that is 45 percent to put toward a project,” City Administrator/Clerk Mary Lou Rainwater said. The city became eligible for the grant funding after Cochran Engineering completed a study of its water system a few years ago.In other news• The Missouri Bank will be donating a small piece of property at no cost to the city, officials announced. The land is located at the corner of Conrad Circle and Laura Street. It is the site of a community garden overseen by the Master Garden Club.A general warranty deed was requested by City Attorney Tim Joyce to complete the transaction. All four aldermen voted in favor of accepting the land.• The board voted unanimously to renew the city’s membership with the Greater Warren County Economic Development Council. The annual membership fee is $5,000.• The board approved making repairs to the south end of Naomi Drive. A project cost was not known and an estimate was going to be received to determine if the city needed to advertise for bids for the work.• The board will only meet once in both November and December as it rearranged its schedule due to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The board will meet Wednesday, Nov. 18, and Wednesday, Dec. 9. Both meetings will start at 5:30 p.m.City of Truesdale
