A Troy man is facing multiple felony charges in Warren County after allegedly holding a woman hostage and threatening her with a sword while he was high on methamphetamine and hallucinating.
Sean Robinett was charged Sunday, Nov. 1, with felonies including armed criminal action, second-degree domestic assault, first-degree harassment, and possession of a controlled substance, along with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Warren County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence at approximately 5:15 a.m. that day in response to a report of a hostage situation, according to a probable cause statement.
The victim in the case reported that Robinett, who she was in a relationship with, had recently used drugs, was hallucinating and believed people were there who actually were not, and “had accused her of facilitating their arrival and grabbed a sword,” according to the statement.
Robinett allegedly forced the woman into a bathroom of the home, pushed her up against a wall, held the sword to her face and neck and threatened to “cut” her. He also allegedly grabbed her by the neck at some point.
Deputies obtained consent to enter the residence, where they located “a syringe, used for the consumption of narcotics, filled with a dark red liquid,” according to the statement. “A crystalline substance, which field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, was also located.”
Robinett admitted to using methamphetamine, according to the probable cause statement, and proceeded to show videos to a deputy, one of which appeared to show him preparing a syringe for illegal drug use.
Robinett, born in 1987, is being held without bond at the Warren County Jail.
