Athletes from Warrenton and Wright City will be competing in the MSHSAA Class 3 Track and Field Championships on the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson City on Friday and Saturday.A pair of field competitors will open the events at 11 a.m. on Friday.Warrenton senior Brian Lanigan will compete in the triple jump, while Wright City senior Brittany McPike participates in the discus throw.Track events begin at noon.Warrenton junior Jordon Washington will run the 100-meter dash at 1:10 p.m.He will then join Carlos Lopez, Justin McBroom and Drake Wagner at 1:35 p.m. for the 800-meter relay.Local action will conclude on Friday with Warrenton senior Drake Wagner running the 200-meter race.On Saturday, the Warrenton 3,200-meter relay team will open events with a noon start.If Washington is to advance to the 100-meter finals, he will run again at 12:50 p.m.At 2:45 p.m., Wright City senior Ben Randolph will compete in the 800-meter race.Finally, if Wagner is to advance to the 200-meter finals, he will cap local competition at 3:05 p.m. on Saturday.SPRINTERS HEAD TO STATEDerrick Forsythe Photo.
