St. Charles boys, girls sweep Warrenton Friday night

The Warrenton girls basketball team lost control of first place in the Gateway Athletic Conference North with a 53-30 home loss to St. Charles Friday night.Jenny Jansen led the Warriors with 15 points.St. Charles led 26-11 at halftime and kept the Warriors at a comfortable distance in the second half, never leading by less than 13 points.Ashtyn Dixon scored six points.The Warriors struggled at the 3-point line, finishing 2-of-14 on the night.St. Charles now sits atop the GAC North with a 6-0 record. Warrenton is in second place at 6-1.----------The Warrenton boys team struggled offensively in the third quarter, eventually losing 75-49.The Warriors were outscored 18-6 in the third frame and fell to 7-13 overall.Randy McRoberts and Trevor Alberternst led the team with 11 points each.For the full stories, check out next week's Warren County Record.
