A Bridgeton man is facing a felony drug charge after he sped past an unmarked Wright City police car and was pulled over.Joshua J. Beck, 20, was charged last week with drug possession with the intent to distribute stemming from the May 15 incident. He also was charged with two misdemeanors for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.According to the probable cause statement, Beck was driving east on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Roelker Road when he passed two cars, including the police car, while exceeding the 35 mph speed limit.During the traffic stop, the officer smelled marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a search, a safe was located and police seized two jars containing pot, digital scale, glass smoking device, metal grinder and $560 in cash, according to the probable cause statement.Felony
