The Wright City football team clinched numerous Eastern Missouri Conference awards after its 5-6 campaign.
Senior Duan McRoberts was unanimously named first-team running back. McRoberts led the offense with 33 touchdowns and 2,374 total yards (2,123 rushing and 251 receiving) in just 11 games.
Junior Dayton Humphreys was the lone quarterback in the conference to earn first-team honors. Humphreys, a first-year varsity player, ended his season with 58 completions for 835 yards. He threw seven touchdowns and rushed for five. Senior Jersiah Higgins earned a first-team nod at wide receiver. Higgins had 264 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Senior Mason Wendt was unanimously named to the first-team offensive line. Wendt was a key lineman for the Wildcats and scored his first career touchdown this season. Junior Kaleb McCory earned first-team place kicker honors. McCory kicked 43 extra points and one field goal.
Senior Hunter Bohannan earned second-team offensive and defensive linemen honors. Bohannan was a key player on both sides of the ball. Junior Grant Lehmen received second-team defensive end honors. Lehmen ended the season with 51 total tackles and six tackles for a loss. McRoberts received a second-team nod at safety, while sophomore Benji Rodriguez earned second-team defensive back honors. Rodriguez led the defense with 105 tackles and five interceptions.
